Training & Consultation

• Help correctional staff and members of the Parole Board of Canada understand variables associated with recidivism risk (e.g., the difference between static/historical predictors and dynamic/changeable predictors, variables that are and are not predictive of recidivism).
• Help correctional program facilitators and general mental health staff training in the area of emotional management when working with difficult populations such as personality disordered sexual offenders or intellectually disabled psychiatric patients.
• Help Program facilitators better manage correctional treatment groups.
• Help correctional staff with morale.
• Help correctional staff with interpersonal communication (e.g., between departments, between “levels”).
• Provide DBT training to mental health workers such as social workers, counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists (e.g., through the DBT Centre of Vancouver).
